Wandle Park Revival - A Community Day to Celebrate Regeneration
At a free celebration event focused on families, the newly refurbished Wandle Park will officially reopen on 6 July.
The park as the centre of the community for the past, present and future generations will be the official theme of the event. A wide range of music, dance, food and crafts will be offered to visitors and the organisers are hoping for as many people as possible to get involved and come to the event.
A significant £3m investment was made by Croydon Council, the Mayor of London, the Heritage and Big Lottery funds, and Barratt Homes.
The project included the completion of a large ornamental pond, creation of a new skate park, the installation of a community bandstand, and ball-courts and the introduction of a large children’s play area, the cleaners in Croydon said.
